The first piece in the “social relationship architecture” triptych, Stability uses balance for both practical effects and metaphorical implications. It is a living structure that moves like a seesaw, level or tilted depending on the position and weight of the two occupants. The two live / work structures at either end are level when unoccupied, but that quickly changes when bodies move around. To live in a “stable world”, the performers must coordinate their movements and, essentially, their lives.
